Imagine having a car that has the ability to handle curves like a slot car, stop on a dime, and accelerate like a rocket. It's easy when an ALONDRA CUSTOMS Suspension is part of the equation. If you're building your dream car or rod, ALONDRA CUSTOMS new IFS or IRS suspensions for Ford or Chevrolet pickup trucks (or any other make) is key. Imagine a 50-plus year-old car or truck that handles like a new Corvette.
ALONDRA CUSTOMS fabricates a more compact version of the Multi-Link IRS that’s based on a Gen 5 Camaro and fits in a much tighter envelope. The cradle is 158mm shorter overall and 75mm lower from the axle centre line up than the original 2016 Camaro Multi-Link IRS. This allows an independent rear suspension to be used in many applications without the need to extensively modify any sheet metal for clearance.
Typical wishbone designs attach at three points in single shear. The ALONDRA CUSTOMS Multilink IRS has four attachment points to control freedom of movement, three of which are double-shear attachments.
High performance IRS designed for the SA market, for muscle car, Custom, Street Rod or Truck enthusiast. Based on the high performance 2016 Gen 5 Camaro geometry.
The adjustment of the toe link does not adjust toe in/out, but actually the toe curve or “bump steer”. The bump steer curve has been engineered to steer the rear of the vehicle into a corner in a safe manner and the adjustment of the eccentric will control the amount of steer experienced while cornering. Track vehicles will greatly benefit from this method of adjustment as it allows high horsepower vehicles to control the effects of throttle steer, and street vehicles will have enhanced turn-in response that further enhances vehicle control.
BMW diff (540i, 740i, 750i) Drive shafts, Hubs and Disc brakes used for easier access to local parts. 3 different track widths available.
It has a lot of advantages, like:
• The current arrangement of links basically eliminates toe-out under acceleration,
• Toe Link steers rear wheels going into a turn and the wheels following the turn,
• Extremely quiet
• Can handle a ton of V8 power,
• Tunability for road or track,
• Has a lot of advantages over a solid axle,
• Suck up the bumps individually like a IRS should, etc.
Improved Wheel Control
With the ALONDRA CUSTOMS Multilink IRS you can establish functionally independent camber, caster and toe curves. Moreover, critical toe link locations can be tuned to allow dynamic steering while maintaining stability in high bump situations. For example, you can have up to 1° toe at max bump travel. The minimized link deflection and high durometer bushings help maintain precise wheel alignment.
Ride Quality Improvements
Unsprung vehicle weight is reduced by approximately 45kg., requiring less spring rate to control wheel movement. NVH (noise/vibration/harshness) is reduced because it must travel through three sets of bushings before reaching the driver's compartment.
Unique Cradle Design
Not only does this facilitate installation of the Multilink IRS in most Sport chassis, but makes it easily adaptable to other vehicles. It can be aligned to the vehicle during installation and provides excellent serviceability.

The ALONDRA CUSTOMS Multilink IRS will fit the vast majority of other chassis:
The IRS will be available for just about everything we make, whether it is one of a GT bolt-on chassis, custom builder's chassis or a rear sub-frame. Available in 3 different track widths, there's an application for just about every car or truck out there. While there are many aftermarket IRS options available these days, the Multilink IRS is a design that actually improves the cornering performance of the vehicle.
